Hello!

My name is Ben, I'm 22 and still very new to FFXIV and MMOs in general. As of right now I main Bard and Dancer, and I've just moved from Crystal to Dynamis as I work towards completing the MSQ for the first time (gotta love an EXP bonus!).I am not, however, new to RP. I've been writing shortform paragraph-to-novella style RP for around 12 years, on everything from Storywriters to Skype to Tumblr. I usually write around two paragraphs or so for more long term RPs, but short, real-time RP at a venue or event will be closer to a single paragraph or semiparagraph. I prefer literate writing partners, but it's not necessarily a dealbreaker so long as your style is interesting!

Q'zula was born and raised into a Seeker clan, but left shortly after his transition began due to the patriarchal nature of their workings. He lived in the woods of the Shroud for several years, learning to hunt and forage from a lone Duskwight who took a shine to him, and later moved to Gridania as he entered young adulthood.

Though Q'zula lived in Gridania and moved to Limsa Lominsa, he doesn't have a true home at either. He moves from place to place, often sleeping under the stars or at inns kind enough to house him temporarily, and only recently has found a permanent room at the residence of a peculiar Ishgardian Viera in the upper district of Mist. She acts as employer, guardian and caregiver all in one, and he owes her more than he can hope to repay in gil or favors.

herbalist

Before he took archery more seriously, Q'zula studied botany. He learned most of what he knows from his clan before he departed from it, but when he first arrived at Gridania he also enrolled in the Botanist's Guild there to learn more. His preferred herbs to study were those with mind-altering properties- everything from simple energy boosts to psychedelic trips. He keeps a few potted plants of his more obscure favorites in his room.

first impressions

A life of travel has taught Q'zula to be wary of his first impressions of people. They often have far more lying under the surface than he expects, and so he can often come off as closed off to strangers when they approach. Once he knows them well enough to feel comfortable, however, he often blossoms into an entirely different person.

friends & family 🌱

Q'zula's employer and guardian. A hawkish businesswoman who rules Ishgard's markets with an iron fist, Sasha took Q'zula in as a young adult and has given him work to keep him occupied while he prepares to settle down for the first time in his life.

Sasha's adopted daughter and the girl Q'zula has been hired to protect during her travels across Eorzea. She's taught him to enjoy the sillier parts of life, and he's taught her not to eat strange plants that she can't identify.

A red mage and architect in training, as well as Q'zula's soon-to-be husband. The two have been close friends for years, and if it weren't for Q'zula's emotional distance they might've saved quite a lot of time spent mutually pining.

One of the only Viera to be found in Ishgard, much like Sasha, and a family friend of hers due to the shared experience. She and Q'zula became friends shortly after his employment under Sasha began, and the pair of them watch over Anelace together.
